WVU football lands commitment from 6-foot-7 SEC tight end in transfer portal

With Jacob Barrick and Grayson Barnes out of eligibility, West Virginia football is embarking on a rebuild in their tight end room. And after landing their first commitment at the position from the transfer portal over the past weekend, they landed a former starting tight end at the SEC level on Monday evening.

WVU secured a commitment from Cam Ball, a primarily blocking tight end who made 24 appearances and four starts for the Bulldogs over the past two seasons. At 6-foot-7 and 250 pounds, Ball brings a massive frame that will be a natural fit in Rich Rodriguez's offense that thrives on extra blockers in the run game and heavy sets that overwhelm defenses in the trenches.
