After the WVU men's basketball team went 2-0 over the last week with a Top 25 upset over Kansas, and the Mountaineers women's team went 1-1 with a Top 25 upset over Iowa State, one player from each squad has been honored by the Big 12 Conference for thier recent performances.
On the men's side, Honor Huff was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week, which is awarded weekly to the top player in the league who is in their first season of Big 12 play. Huff, a senior who transferred to the Mountaineers from Chattanooga, leads WVU with 17.
