West Bromwich Albion have granted a period of compassionate leave to Ousmane Diakite following the death of his brother.

The 25-year-old midfielder has returned to Mali to be with his family following the passing of his brother Madou.

The Baggies released a statement in which they said that Diakite "will be offered the time and support required to mourn the devastating loss".

Captain Jed Wallace said: "As a group we are devastated for our much-loved team-mate Oussie and his family following the passing of Madou.

"We are all thinking of him as he travels home and we will be here to support him when he returns to his family at the club.
