Cougs Have Solid First Day at Pac-12 Multi Events

LOS ANGELES -- The Washington State combined events competitors, sophomores Alissa Brooks-Johnson and Dino Dodig, finished the first day of the Pac-12 Championships with lifetime-best marks, achieved Saturday at UCLA’s Drake Stadium.

Brooks-Johnson (Doty, Wash.) is in third-place after the first four events in the heptathlon with a PR score of 3,356 points. UCLA’s Tatum Souza leads the heptathlon with a first day total of 3,407 points, with the 2014 heptathlon winner, USC’s Amalie Iuel, second with 3368 points.

Brooks-Johnson, who was the runner-up in the heptathlon at the 2014 Pac-12 Championships, opened the 2015 competition with a 100m hurdles PR time of 13.
