The Trojans were selected to win the PAC-12 for the first time since 2012 in a poll of 45 media members. The Trojans received 254 points, including 32 of the 45 first place votes, to win the South. The Oregon Ducks received 264 points, 37 of 45 first place votes, to become the North champions.
Despite the Ducks gaining 10 more votes overall, the Trojans received 21 of 45 votes to win the PAC-12 Championship Game, making them the preseason favorites.
