They added Brian Boyle. Big deal. The Toronto Maple Leafs had $15 + million available in potential cap space, and they did not act.
Maybe they feel their playoff position is too precarious. Maybe there just weren’t any deals to make. It’s impossible to say.
I can say, however, that I feel they should have done more.
Looking at their overall stats, I feel they should be in a better place than their record has them in. The blowing leads, the Shoot-out record, these are things that are luck-based. And their luck has been bad.
Obviously they need to get a better defense, but you can’t pin all that on the D.
