On a recent Bleacher Report livestream, NBA Insider Jake Fischer was asked about the Spurs as a potential destination for Ja Morant. Fischer said he'd be "absolutely floored" if San Antonio made a move for the disgruntled point guard, considering their success this season and the strong stable of playmakers already on the roster.
That was the nice way of saying no, but it goes much deeper than just not having the room for a player at his position. Morant isn't a fit for the Silver and Black. There's a culture of selflessness and awareness here, and the Grizzlies' injury-prone dunkmaster doesn't fit the mold.
