SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Portland guard Joel Foxwell continues to make his mark on the West Coast Conference, earning Freshman of the Week honors for the fifth time this season. Foxwell shares this week's award with Santa Clara's Sash Gavalyugov.
Foxwell has now claimed the honor in half of the 10 weeks of play during the 2025-26 season. Since the start of the 2023-24 campaign, Portland freshmen have earned the award 15 times, nearly once every three weeks.
The Melbourne, Australia native led the Pilots to a thrilling home sweep of Pacific (90-89, OT) and Oregon State (82-76) last week.
