Phillies reportedly interested in core Twins player as J.T. Realmuto replacement

Twins president Derek Falvey believes the Twins have the talent to make a postseason run in 2026. There were near-constant trade rumors regarding Minnesota's star players, such as Joe Ryan and Byron Buxton, earlier in the offseason, but they have cooled down since Falvey shut down the rumors and added first basemen Josh Bell and Eric Wagaman and righty reliever Eric Orze. However, a new trade rumor regarding catcher Ryan Jeffers has recently emerged.

The Philadelphia Phillies are interested in trading for Jeffers, according to The Athletic's Matt Gelb.

The Phillies have explored contingencies because pitchers and catchers report to Florida in five weeks.
