In my last post, about the Timberwolves current depth situation, I highlighted the fact that the positions of shooting guard, small forward and power forward are now stripped bare of any depth whatsoever.
With plenty of Centers on the roster, one of them could fill up a power forward role. However, Cole Aldrich may be unlikely to see next season in Minnesota, Gorgui Dieng trade rumors have been floating around the last couple of seasons, and in his injury-plagued rookie season Justin Patton didn’t seem to be a big part of Tom Thibodeau’s plans.
Considering Patton was the 16th pick in last year’s draft, there’s a chance that this years 20th pick may spend the next year in Iowa, but with a lack of depth currently on the roster that might not be the case.
