Students were told to evacuate the Ekstrom and Kornhauser Libraries at around 2 p.m. on Jan. 12.
At 2:15 p.m., the university sent a RAVE Alert that ULPD was responding to a “safety concern” at the Estrom and Kornhauser libraries.
Library faculty members outside of Ekstrom stated that police were responding to a bomb threat, but no official university statement regarding this was made.
“We have a safety concern related to the Ekstrom, Kornhauser and Law Libraries. We’re asking people to avoid the areas,” said U of L Interim Vice President of Communications and Marketing John Karman when asked about the potential of a bomb threat.
