The NCAA Division I cabinet announced today that it has approved a new transfer portal window for men’s and women’s college basketball.
The portal will now be open for 15 days following the men’s and women’s basketball championship games.
For women’s basketball, that will be April 6 through April 20 and for men’s basketball, it will be April 7 through April 21.
That is a significant change from last spring, when the portal opened after the second round of the NCAA tournament and remained open for 30 days.

At the recommendation of the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Oversight Committees, the transfer windows in men’s and women’s basketball will open for a 15-day period the day after the championship game for the respective NCAA tournament.
