The first overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft belongs to a baseball team from the city of Chicago... but, unfortunately, that team is the Chicago White Sox instead of the Chicago Cubs.
The White Sox entered Tuesday night's MLB Draft Lottery with the highest odds of coming away with the top pick and there was no surprise there as the rebuilding club looks to lock in on a young talent to build around in the years to come.
Rounding out the top 5 are the Rays, Twins, Giants and, most relevant to the Cubs as a division rival, the Pirates.
