KALAMAZOO — After Paige Koehler drained a 3-pointer with just over six minutes left in the final quarter to make it 55-42, it looked like Bowling Green was going to cruise to a double-digit victory over Western Michigan.
With a little more than one minute to go, the Falcons’ lead was trimmed down to 57-52 after WMU’s Ariana Wilkes drilled a pair of free throws and things tightened up. But a 7-2 run to close out the game gave BGSU a 61-54 Mid-American Conference win on the road Wednesday.
Liberty-Benton graduate Lauren Gerken paced the 10-6 Falcons (3-2 MAC) with a 15-point performance.
