By virtually every measure, the Baltimore Orioles have had a successful offseason so far. They made one of the biggest signings of the year when they landed Pete Alonso, and the rotation, bullpen, and lineup have all seen meaningful additions. Even if they don't end up landing a frontline starter as has long been speculated, this is a significantly improved Orioles team.
However, it is still fair to wonder if Baltimore has done enough to be a serious contender in the AL East again. Yes, they are better and already had a strong young core, but the Blue Jays have been even busier this offseason than the Orioles, and both the Yankees and Red Sox can't ever really be counted out.
